Summary of Experience

Journalism
I regularly contribute to several websites and magazines around the world, producing and researching features, reviews and news items. Primarily about music and bands, but I have recently produced some ‘crossover’ articles incorporating social issues in an effort to diversify. I also run a small sporadic podcast which receives over 5,000 downloads an episode.

Web & Graphic Design
I have worked for two agencies as well as a variety of freelance roles and commissions, generally developing templates into HTML pages and incorporating PHP, MySQL and CSS. In addition to this I have maintained and administered sites and servers.

Event Management & Development
I have worked on numerous events and projects from concerts and tours to language tuition and cultural events. Organising logistics, publicity, content, funding applications and performing admin roles.

Music Performance
I have played in a critically acclaimed and commercially successful world touring band and now frequently organise small tours for my new band and solo act, booking dates, organizing logistics and promotion.

Apple Mac Specialist
I was an Apple Mac support technician for several years, primarily supporting users in design studios, publishers and education, also providing training in software usage.

Computer Skills
My computer skills are advanced across most platforms, I am experienced in Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Quark, Office, Mac Administrator, Appleshare, OS X server, Remote desktop, Network Assistant, Filemaker, InDesign, Director, Flash, Cubase, ProTools, Codewarrior, C, C++, Applescript, Illustrator, Premiere, After effects, Final Cut Pro, hosting and server set up, including Apache, CPanel, setting up mail accounts, name servers etc.

Antescene
A new promotions company that organises musical events in 'alternative' venues such as warehouses and galleries. There have been five events in two countries, the most recent gaining publicity in The Australian Musicians union Magazine, The Melbourne Age newspaper and on www.themusic.com.au.

Guitarist / Songwriter in Art Brut
A critically and commercially successful band which I sadly needed to leave due to personal reasons. I was Project manager for Arts Council (UK) funded Art Brut / The Fades tour, applying for funding, organising and promoting the successful tour. I also made the bands early posters, CD inlays and marketing. Details

European Roadwork’s
I assisted the project manager organising a European Arts Council funded tour that covered 9 bands across three countries.

Smekkleysa records
I assisted the London office of the infamous Iceland record label, helping with press, marketing and logistics of UK releases and tours.

Order Out of Chaos or Not
Organiser and fundraiser for this small London based interactive arts project that hosted three successful events and gained interest from funding bodies.

English Island Project
Helper for a week long project teaching English to Italian children. As well as aiding in general tasks I created radio show and the music / lights for a short play.

Mac Tech Support
I spent several years working as an Apple Mac specialist, at a variety of companies, including Barnfield College, Mac Recovery Club, D&AD, The International Wine & Food Society, H Bauer Publishers and Highbury Publishers.
